Pregnancy: Week 36

Wow, it's now week 36 + 1 day. From next Friday onwards, it will be no problem for Lucas to come to the world. I had a ultrasound checkup at Dianaecho because Dr Mao was afraid that the baby might have some stomach problem. Luckily, everything is confirmed to be perfectly fine. Contrary to what Dr. Mao said about baby's weight one week ago (she said that Lucas was underweight), doctor at Dianaecho told me that our baby is actually quite big, 2.8-2.9 kg, on the high end of the weight limit. I was also told that chinese women normally make big babies. Well, don't know who to believe. In any case, baby is in good health. Whether he is several hundred grams more or less is of little significance. Hmm, I wish that he wouldn't get too big. I am a bit afraid of having to tear my perine muscles or have a caesarian.

I am weighted at 61.7kg, quite normal. I feel very well since last week, full of energy. I feel like doing a lot of things, but still have to be careful not to overdo it. It's still one week too early for Lucas to be born now.

After discussion with Gisela, I am now concerned about the distance between home and Grangettes. Being transported in the car for one and half hour during labor contraction will be very very painful. Maybe I will ask Victoria whether I can stay at her place one week before due date.

Nice weather finally arrives. Stephane and I went to Schilliger today and bought a bunch of nice flowers. We seem to spend a lot on plants. But we do enjoy gardening very much. It will be fun to do it together with Lucas when he is bigger.

Pregnancy: Week 34

Today is 34th week and 5 days. I am weighted at 60.3 kg. During the monthly checkup last week, Dr. Mao told us that Lucas might not get sufficient nutrition from my placenta. So we will do a follow up ultrasound this Friday to see whether Lucas has gained sufficient weight since last week. If he didn't grow, then Dr. Mao might induce labor. Quite funny that in past weeks I had to be on bed rest to keep Lucas inside, now we might need to get him out earlier because he might not get enough food inside. Lucas is still very active, kicks a lot. That is a good sign.  Oh, by the way, he has turned to the right birth position like a good boy. His head is down, back to the right hand side, hands and feet to the left hand side.

Tonight it's the match between Switzerland and Moldova for worldcup qualification. Stephane has gone to see the match in Geneva. Imagine that little Lucas will one day play football with Stephane and go to watch matches. Stephane must be happy. Switzerland has won 2-0. Stephane wears a red T-Shirt marked with China. Hehe, it's very him to have this sense of humor.

I stopped working since Monday. That indeed makes me much more relaxed. Hopefully being relaxed and fully rested will do good to my little one.
